{"id":201,"date":"2010-08-06T10:50:18","date_gmt":"2010-08-06T08:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mabuhaycooking.wordpress.com\/?p=201"},"modified":"2010-08-06T10:50:18","modified_gmt":"2010-08-06T08:50:18","slug":"zongzi-rice-dumplings-in-bamboo-leaves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mabuhaycooking.com\/index.php\/2010\/08\/06\/zongzi-rice-dumplings-in-bamboo-leaves\/","title":{"rendered":"Zongzi (Rice Dumplings in Bamboo Leaves)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Makes 20 dumplings&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>    * 20 strings (for binding the zong zi packaging)<br \/>\n    * 40 large bamboo leaves<br \/>\n    * 1 kg of Glutinous Rice<br \/>\n    * 2 kg of tender, fatty pork, sliced into 1 inch cubes<br \/>\n    * 10 Salted Duck&rsquo;s Egg yolk<br \/>\n    * 40 Small Dried Black Mushrooms<br \/>\n    * 20 Dried Chestnuts<br \/>\n    * 10 Cloves of Scallions cut up<br \/>\n    * 1\/2 kg of Dried Radish cut up very finely<br \/>\n    * 5 Cloves of Garlic<br \/>\n    * 100 g small Dried Shrimp.<br \/>\n    * 200 g Shelled Peanuts (with skins)<br \/>\n    * Cooking oil<br \/>\n    * Fine Ground Black Pepper<br \/>\n    * Star Anise <\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><br \/>\nSoak the rice for three hours.<br \/>\nBoil peanuts until tender (30 \u2013 1 hour).<br \/>\nStew the meat and the chestnuts together for 30 minutes to 1 hour with with 1\/2 a up of soy sauce, 1\/2 a cup of rice wine, a teaspoon each of fine ground pepper, sugar and star anise.<br \/>\nSoak mushrooms until soft (hot water will speed the process);
