{"id":28,"date":"2010-07-15T14:49:21","date_gmt":"2010-07-15T12:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mabuhaycooking.wordpress.com\/?p=28"},"modified":"2020-08-25T16:07:48","modified_gmt":"2020-08-25T14:07:48","slug":"chicken-and-pork-apretada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mabuhaycooking.com\/index.php\/2010\/07\/15\/chicken-and-pork-apretada\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken and Pork\u00a0Apretada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\"><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p><\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2.2 lbs. chicken cut in pieces <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 lb. pork cut in 1 1\/2 inch squares <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>salt and pepper to taste <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>flour <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>cooking oil <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>4 cloves crushed garlic <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 medium sized onion, chopped <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 medium sized tomato, chopped <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>4 oz. can of  tomato sauce <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2 cups water <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 small bayleaf <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 sprig oregano <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 bell pepper cut into 1 inch squares <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>4 medium sized potatoes cut into 2 inch pieces <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 cup frozen peas <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3.5 oz pimento cut into 1 inch squares<\/strong><\/li>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\"><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<h2>Directions<\/h2>\n<p><\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong> Dust chicken and pork pieces in flour, salt and pepper.<br \/>\nBrown   quickly in hot oil.<br \/>\nSaute garlic, onions, tomatoes and tomato sauce in  separate pot.<br \/>\nPour 2 cups water and let boil. Add browned chicken, pork,   bayleaf, oregano and bell pepper.<br \/>\nSimmer for 30 minutes or until tender.<br \/>\nAdd potatoes and cook until tender.<br \/>\nAdd salt and pepper according to  taste.<br \/>\nYou may thicken the sauce by adding flour dissolved in water into  the pot.<br \/>\nFinally, add peas and pimento and cook for another 3 minutes.<br \/>\nServe with
